Beef (Niú ròu - 牛肉)

Beef is the culinary name for meat from cattle (Bos taurus).
In prehistoric times, humans hunted aurochs and later domesticated them. Since that time, numerous breeds of cattle have been bred specifically for the quality or quantity of their meat. Today, beef is the third most widely consumed meat in the world, after pork and poultry. As of 2018, the United States, Brazil, and China were the largest producers of beef.
Based on TCM, beef can be used to supplements qi and blood, supplements stomach and spleen, strengthens yang, strengthens sinews, muscles and bones.
The preparation methods of beef are boiled, steamed, fried/roasted, or in soup.
Beef contains protein, fat, vitamin B1 and B2, calcium, phosphorus, and iron.
Some indications that can be reduced by beef are:
* Qi and blood vacuity: lack of strength, weakness in knees and legs, spontaneous sweating, emaciation,
especially weakness caused by profuse bleeding after pregnancy or strong menstrual blood losses.
* Stomach and spleen vacuity: lack of appetite, general weakness, lack of strength, bloating, and diarrhea.
